We feel that it is important to promote a healthy lifestyle right from the start. We encourage children to play outdoors with lots of opportunities to develop both their bodies and their minds.
Snack costs £15 per half term and is payable via Parent Pay.
Alongside snack, children will also receive free fruit daily.
At each snack session, children are offered a drink of milk, or chilled water and a healthy snack that follows the Early Years Foundation Stage nutrition guidance. Snack varies enormously; it could be cheese or fruit – apples, oranges, bananas, grapes, etc. or raw vegetables – carrots, celery, sweet peppers, dips and bread sticks. The children may also make sandwiches, toast or warm bread from time to time.
If your child has any allergies, please provide the office with NHS paperwork and we will happily offer an alternative for your child.

At Beckstone, we embody physical activity every day ensuring that our core aim is to amplify the focus on movement. The children take part in two hours of P.E time through P.E lessons, gymnastics lessons, GoNoodle games, dances, adventure playground breaks and many video tutorials e.g. Go Danny or Yogapalooza. Then on top of this we embed physicality into all parts of our indoor and outdoor provision.
Outdoor play is particularly important as it has been proven that children learn best outdoors. Playing outdoors is essential for young children, not just for their growing bodies, but for the development of their minds too. Outdoors they have opportunities for investigation, exploration, creative experiences, working together in imaginative play, for sharing and for co-operation. Not matter the weather, we try to get active both indoors and outdoors.
As we spend a lot of time outdoors, we would be very grateful if you could provide your children with these items so they can be warm and snug in cold weather.
We try in every way to help children to understand the importance of looking after teeth and encourage all our children and families to follow our Healthy Teeth Policy. Sweets are discouraged even as birthday treats, as is pop and sugary juice.
All children in Early Years have free milk that is served at snack time. Throughout the rest of the day they have access to water at all times.
